Joseph Ardizzone
Story: “Mayor of Willets Point”
amNY ran an article about the so-called “Mayor of Willets Point.” His name is Joseph Ardizzone, and he’s the one and only resident of Willets Point. The article suggests Mr. Ardizzone is the organizer of the opponents 
of the Mayor’s plan to develop Willets Point, and it has some quotations from business people in the area and Mr. Ardizzone himself about the hardship of relocating after living in Willets Point for over 70 years.
First of all, when Willets Point became what it did, I have no idea why this guy chose to stick around. There’s nothing wrong with it, per se, but I’m just not sure why on earth anyone would want to do such a thing. That being said, this is another piece from a local paper that highlights the stories of the opponents of the plan.
And not that it makes a difference in where he lives, but based on that photo, I don’t think there’s any chance this guy is a Mets fan.
