Mayor Bloomberg announced today that the City of New York had made its first purchases of land in Willets Point, according to a report from Crain’s New York.

News: Sabini to Paterson’s Staff, Monserrate Unopposed for State Senate

Governor Paterson has appointed State Senator Sabini as “a senior adviser to the Governor on issues of the Racing and Wagering Board by Gov. David Paterson.” The appointment will eliminate what would have been a hard fought primary between Monserrate, who was getting endorsements from pretty much everybody, and Sabini, the incumbent Democratic State Senator.
