News: Bold Move by Bloomberg
Mets fans, our Mayor has made a bold move in proposing $389.7 million for the Willets Point redevelopment project in his executive budget. From the Observer:
As means of comparison, the city previously pledged $350 million for the expansion of the publicly owned Javits Center and $200 million for Brooklyn’s Atlantic Yards development.
This is huge. This is an instance where city funds could be spent to drastically improve an area and potentially transform the image of an entire borough. As residents of the city and fans of the Mets, now is the time to voice your support for Mayor Bloomberg’s plan. Write your local papers, contact your local elected officials, and let your voices be heard.
